A few weeks ago I took a little trip to the other side of the river to Covington, KY, to visit Braxton Brewing Co. A young brewery, just under 1 year old, Braxton has already incurred quite the buzz in the craft beer world. I went to see what all the buzz was about, and let me tell you, this is a Brewery that is going to be around for a long time to come. The facility itself is stunning. Spacious yet welcoming, with state of the art technology everywhere to enhance your experience there, it’s a really hip, fun place to hang out. Taproom Manager, Megan was nice enough to give me the grand tour of the facility, and I’m pretty sure I said “wow, this place is so clean!” about 15 times during the tour. I’m not exaggerating, I mean the brewery was sparkling. So now on to the most important part, the beer. While there I tried several different beers of different styles, all fantastic. From Crank Shaft, their American IPA, to Dead Blow with Starter Coffee (my personal favorite from them), I liked everything I tried. It became quite apparent to me during my visit there why Braxton was recognized by Beer Advocate as one of the Best New Breweries in 2015, these guys are doing everything right. If you haven’t been to Braxton yet, I highly recommend that you go. Soon, and often. But for those like me who don’t have a lot of free time to go out to fun places like breweries, I have great news. Braxton is coming to Cappy’s! Starting Monday, February 15th, Cappy’s will have the privilege of carrying Braxton’s beers via Stagnaro Distributing. To start, we will have the 2 beers that they have canned so far, Storm, a smooth and delicious Cream Ale, and Crank Shaft, their American IPA, both will be available in cans for $9.99 per 6 pack. To celebrate the arrival of Braxton at Cappy’s, we will also have my favorite, Dead Blow with Starter Coffee on tap that day while it lasts. Braxton went from a new brewery in Northern Kentucky that I kept hearing about, to one of my top 5 favorite breweries in the Tri-State area. I’m thrilled to be able to sell beers from a local brewery so deserving of success. Be sure to come out to Cappy’s next Monday to share in the excitement with a pint, a growler fill, and a couple 6 packs from Braxton Brewing! Cheers!
