New Beer Arrivals 7/25-7/29
Against The Grain Kentucky Ryed Chiquen- “An amber ale brewed with rye malt and aged in rye whiskey barrels. Our first barrel aged beer here at Against the Grain is the Kentucky Ryed Chiquen. Brewed with Maris Otter from the UK and rye malt and caramel rye from Germany, imparting a spicy, fruity and dry flavor. Then hopped with enough English Nugget and Kent Goldings just to balance and fermented with our house ale yeast. After fermentation we moved the entire batch into the AtG private dining room and into used Redemption Rye barrels from our good friends at Strong’s Spirits. There it aged for 5 weeks until we felt it had picked up the right amount of residual bourbon character and oak flavors. We then transferred it to our serving tank, carbonated it and the end result is on tap now, a balanced drinkable and complex barrel aged beer.” ABV: 8.6%.
Avery Ale To The Chief- “Originally brewed to celebrate Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009, Avery Brewing Company elected to give their beer Ale to the Chief a third term to commemorate the 2016 election. Rather than categorizing the beer as Imperial, Avery created a new beer style to honor our country’s democracy, calling the beer a Presidential Pale Ale. A brew worthy of the Oval Office!” Only brewed every 4 years! ABV: 8.1%.
Sixpoint Puff- “If you love Resin, try tasting it straight from the tanks. That’s PUFF – a hazy, unfiltered pour with an extra dose of dry hops… a new blend devised just for Puff. We decided to capture our own puffy, cloudy brew in a limited release can. First puff says it all – this ish is Keller. Breathe deep and put your head in the clouds… it’s Mad Science.” ABV: 9.8%.
Mikkeller Hallo Ich Bin- A Berliner-style Weisse beer brewed with Peaches. ABV: 3.7%.
Tool Sur Citra- A Sour pale dry hopped with Citra. ABV: 5.5%.
Prairie Funky Gold Mosaic- “Funky Gold Mosaic is a dry-hopped sour ale. We took Prairie Gold and dry-hopped it with a huge amount of Mosaic hops. The end results are tropical, sour, and an all around new beer drinking experience! This beer is great fresh, but will continue to develop as the wild yeast continues to work in the beer.” ABV: 7.5%.
Stillwater Nu Tropic- A contemporary, hazy IPA brewed with mango and passionfruit. ABV: 6%.
Urban Family Brewing Crimson Fawn- A sour farmhouse ale with blood orange. ABV: 6.5%.
Urban Family Brewing Kriek- “Our Kriek underwent thirteen months of life inside barrels, playing house with our indigenous cultures. Soon after, we married this beer with over 3000 pounds of balaton & montgomery cherries, allowing it to mature, and harmonize. Enjoy our hommage to a Belgian style ale.” ABV: 6.3%.
Urban Family Brewing Magnolia Redux- “Hoppy Magnolia revisited. Dry-hopped farmhouse with Amarillo and Mosaic hops.” ABV: 6.5%.
Uinta Flamingose- “Inspired by 16th century brewers in Goslar, Germany, this salted wheat beer (with a tropical twist) is snappy and tart with a remarkably refreshing finish… and just the right amount of pineapple.” ABV: 4%.
Bell’s The Oracle- “Our take on the West Coast-style Double India Pale Ale, The Oracle places hop intensity first and foremost, making only the slightest concession to malt and balance. The fireworks start with the aromatic punch of dry-hop sessions with hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest. Resinous, citrusy hop flavors mixed with aggressive bitterness from a massive kettle addition deliver on that aromatic promise.” ABV: 10%.
Nowhere In Particular Batch #002- “Rice, mosaic, and simcoe hops combine to form this deliciously dangerous brew. The IBUs and ABV have been reduced from prior iterations making this beer supremely smashable, Tropical hop flavors blend perfectly with the mellow and balanced malt bill. Medium bodied, golden in color, and right around 8.5% this is a beer drinker’s summer dream. We even put it in cans so whether at the pool, hitting the links, or in a drunken stupor feel safe and free to pound these brews as a celebration to the warm months and all that come with them.”
Maui Brewing La Perouse White- “La Perouse White is a fresh handcrafted Belgian inspired witbier brewed with wheat and European Pilsner malts, spiced with coriander and fresh local mandarin oranges.” ABV: 5.2%.
Drie Fonteinen Zwet.Be- A Belgian Porter brewed with wild yeasts from their lambic casks. ABV: 7%.
3 Floyd’s Apocalypse Cow- “This complex, double India Pale Ale has an intense citrus and floral hop aroma balanced by a velvety malt body which has been augmented with lactose milk sugar. With this different take on an IPA we have brewed an ale that is both pleasing to drink and, once again, “not normal.” ABV: 8.6%.
3 Floyd’s War Mullet- “This double IPA will make you want to grow a mullet (if you don’t already have one) and go to war (if your’re not already).” ABV: 8.1%.
3 Floyd’s WigSplitter- “Big Wig, No Wig or Comb Over. Wigsplitter is an oatmeal stout brewed with freshly ground espresso. It’s for those of us who like a little beer with their coffee or a little bit of coffee with their beer.” ABV: 7.7%.
3 Floyd’s Alpha King- “A bold yet balanced American Pale Ale with slight caramel sweetness and aggressive citrus hoppiness. This is our flagship beer.” ABV: 6.66%.
3 Floyd’s Gumballhead- “An American wheat beer with a refreshing, crisp citrus finish. This delicious session beer is brewed with boatloads of Amarillo hops.” ABV: 5.6%.
Triple Digit Cortex- An Imperial Stout brewed with coffee. ABV: 10%.
Hoof Hearted Everybody Wants Some Simcoe- A Double IPA, single hopped with Simcoe hops. Releasing Thursday at 4pm, 1 4pack limit per person, no holds. ABV: 8%.
Dark Horse Variety Pack- This year’s variety pack in different than years past. This year it includes: Crooked Tree IPA, Smells Like A Citra Safety Meeting, Crooked Theratree Black IPA, and Coffpa Coffee IPA.
