Heavy Seas The Alpha Effect- “With a lightning strike of exotic hops, the Alpha Effect is a hazy and dank IPA thundering with juicy hop aroma and flavor. Take cover, the Alpha Effect is in effect!”

New Beer Arrivals 2/20-2/24

Hi-Wire Enchanter Baltic Porter- “Historically brewed to withstand shipment across the North Sea, Baltic porters have a long tradition of being big, chewy beers. Enchanter draws from these roots by blending an abundance of dark malts with tannic dryness imparted by American White Oak. This robust porter was lagered for 8 weeks.”  ABV: 8.5%.

Hi-Wire Lager- “This true American lager is as approachable as it is delicious, a perfect balance of light Pilsen malt and German hops. Extensively lagered until the beer reaches peak maturity, this lager is your handcrafted option when only a refreshing, light beer will do.”  ABV: 4.6%.

Hi-Wire Hi-Pitch Mosaic IPA- “A balanced Western North Carolina IPA with bright citrus and tropical fruit aromas. Expect big grapefruit, tangerine and subtle melon flavors from the chorus of Mosaic & Centennial hops to balance out the malt in this dank & drinkable ale.”  ABV: 6.7%.

Hi-Wire Lo-Pitch Juicy IPA- “This thirst quenching, easy drinking IPA packs a bright citrus hop punch. Juicy American hops and a light malt bill make Lo-Pitch™ the perfect pairing for sandy shores, mountain tops, or your bestie’s birthday party.”  ABV: 4.9%.

Hi-Wire Bed of Nails Brown Ale- “Bed of Nails is crafted as an American ode to a traditional English brown. A light hop addition balances the natural sweetness present in the specialty malt. This beer’s delicate body and dry finish allow flavors of toffee and dark fruit to shine through.”  ABV: 6.1%.

Hi-Wire Gose- “Brewed with Pink Himalayan Salt, this Gose is tart, supremely drinkable and balanced with a complex fruit character. Crisp citrus and lemon-lime from coriander marries with our house Lactobacillus strain, creating subtle notes of stone fruit and apricot in this hazy, sessionable sour wheat beer.”  ABV: 4.2%.

Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout- “Sunday Morning Stout, 12.7% ABV, is an American Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels. Aromas of roasted coffee and bourbon awaken your senses while their flavors blend with hints of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla and caramel. The perfect cap to a Saturday night or start to Sunday morning.”

Prairie Phantasmagoria- “You don’t always think of big DIPA’s when you think of Prairie, but we have taken the perfect blend of malts and hops to create this explosion of citrus and piney flavors and aromas. This beer is so good we had to make it a Prairie staple!”  ABV: 8%.

3 Floyd’s Toxic Maltz- “Fruity banana esters and clove with more subtle herbal, citrus, and sweet bread notes. This medium bodied Belgian strong ale is malty sweet at first with a bitter warming finish. Brewed with our friends in the band Exodus. If you hit the floor you can always crawl!!”  ABV: 9.2%.  (No holds)

Hoppin Frog Double Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Stout- “Rich, smooth, complex chocolate flavors in this oatmeal stout are created from high-grade baker’s cocoa and Belgian chocolate malt.  These great flavors are complimented with a substantial amount of memorable, sweet cherry character, making this one great beer!”  ABV: 8%.

Avery Apricot Sour- “Bushels of juicy apricots and bright bursts of barrel-aged tartness are seamlessly infused to cultivate this deliciously distinctive and succulent sour ale.”  ABV: 7.3%.

Terrapin Hi-5- “This IPA features 5 tropical, orange, & citrusy aromatic and flavorful hops, a medium body with biscuit and caramel malt notes that bring balance to the beer. This California Style IPA’s big citrusy aroma and huge hop presence will keep you in awe sip after sip.”  ABV: 5.9%.

Terrapin Recreationale- “This hopped up session ale is light bodied with a present hop bitterness and a crisp finish. Dry hopped with Galaxy hops, this beer presents a subtle peach and passionfruit aroma.”  ABV: 4.7%.

Terrapin Hopsecutioner- “Light copper in color, this IPA has an aroma. of fresh pine and citrus. A strong malt backbone provides balance to an assertive hop bitterness.”  ABV: 7.3%.

Oskar Blues Deviant Dale’s- “Born at the cross roads, in a juke joint, as if Dale’s Pale Ale sold its soul to balance Deviant’s foreboding aromas of citrus, grapefruit rind and piney resins with a copper ball-of-fire color and inscrutable finish. The 2011 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner (American IPA Category) is the Devil incarnate with untold amounts of malt and hedonistic Columbus dry-hopping.”  ABV: 8%.

Southern Tier Nu Skool- “We spent over a year prototyping R&D versions of Nu Skool. This final version is one special beer. It is an IPA with a slight malty sweetness, but overall balanced & brimming with tropical, fruity, spicy, piney & citrus character. To contrast our IPA, which most closely resembles a traditional English IPA in malt & hop bills, we wanted to brew an India Pale Ale in a new way. West Coast brewers have been brewing lighter, more “Americanized,” yet still full of hop character & our brewers wanted to try their hand by brewing their take.”  ABV: 6%.

The Bruery The Order- “Monastic breweries wrote the book on complex ales that weave notes of dark fruits, spices, caramelized character and warmth into each sip. The Order summons that tradition and adds local inspiration. Our darkening, Belgian-inspired abbey ale features dark-fruited character from dates, Belgian-style sugars and subtle spicing from coriander, which compliments the Belgian yeast esters.”  ABV: 10.6%.

The Bruery Frucht Boysenberry- “Welcome to Frucht, our land of fruited Berliner Weisse-style beers. Known for a tart flavor profile and traditionally low ABV, our German-style wheat beer gains even more funky notes and natural earthy-woodiness from fermentation in one of our twin oak foeder vessels – the largest known to be fabricated in this country. Each installment in the series features a new fruit, or Frucht, if we’re Sprechen sie Deutsch. This installment has boysenberries added, which impart a puckering jamminess and gem-like hue.”  ABV: 4.5%.

This week’s events are:

Wednesday- Kill The Keg!  $3 off 64oz growlers and $2 off 32oz howlers and crowlers.

New Beer Arrivals 2/13-2/17

Fat Head’s Hop JuJu- “The magical hops cast their spell, the natives chant and the drums beat… First let us confirm that there is no witchcraft used in creating this fine brew. None. Really. Well maybe a little. A supernatural beer with a powerhouse of hops creating aromas and flavors of citrus, pine and tropical fruit with a juicy resiny hop finish. Hakuna Matata.”  ABV: 9%.  Only available for a limited time!

Rhinegeist Powder- “We’re embracing the snow and warming up with our White IPA. With a combination of Lemondrop, Bravo and Centennial hops, Powder showcases citrusy notes with a large percentage (30%) of wheat in its grain bill. Stay cozy out there!”  ABV: 6.8%.

Rhinegeist Mosaic- Now in cans!  “Dry Hopped Pale Ale with an ebullient grapefruit blossom & Mandarin orange bouquet.”  ABV: 5.6%.

Heavy Seas/ Union Partnership- “‘Olde Ale’ is an interesting beer style featuring flavors of nuts, cocoa, molasses, and dried fruits float over a chewy, luscious body of English malt goodness,” said Christopher Leonard, Heavy Seas’ Brewmaster. “Inspired by the rich, warming brews of a bygone era, and with the addition of local Domino Brown Sugar, this example of neighborly camaraderie will yield a true, comfort ale that should kindle its own Baltimore nostalgia.”  ABV: 8.5%.

Dogfish Head Olde School- “Fermented with dates and figs, this smooth barleywine has a unique flavor.  The concept for this beer came from an old cellerman’s manual Sam came across.  At about 15% ABV, this beer is a great candidate for aging. Over time, the beer dries out and the pit fruit flavors come forward and the hops recede. Our recommendation? Grab a few bottles when you find it — enjoy one now, and age the others for a bit. Let us know which you prefer!”

Stone Jindia Pale Ale- “Tired of being in the beer slump dumps? Looking for that certain sprightly spring sprig? Well search no further! One bottle of this aromatically fragrant, ginger-spiced lupulinicious liquid is all it takes to appease even the most rambunctious of palates. This is no snake oil philter good friends. We have the masterful inclination to call it exactly what it is –  EXCITEMENT for your taste buds!  Made from the exotic ginger root, juniper berry tincture and a citrus peel duo of lemon and lime, these botanicals mix miraculously well with a double dose of the most delectable hops known to mankind. Be sure to crook that elbow of yours, for one gloriously refined swig! You’ll find that another is certain to follow as if by divine influence. Good for everything a beer ought to be good for. Beware of Jindia Pale Ale counterfeits from hucksters and mountebanks, and accept only this genuine article.”  ABV: 8.7%.

Urban Artifact The Gadget-  Back for a limited time!  “We asked our taproom staff to design a beer…the consensus was “Sour Berry Bomb”. Get your tastebuds ready for this super-tart blackberry and raspberry phenom. A deep royal purple color and an amazing malt smoothy aroma will get you started, but this one is pure candy. ”  ABV: 6.1%.

Boulevard Rye on Rye on Rye- “Inspired by the success of our “X” series of special Imperial Stout releases, we’ve embarked on a journey to the outer reaches of our popular Rye on Rye. For this inaugural release, a rich, tawny rye ale is aged in first-use rye whiskey barrels then transferred to yet another set of first-use rye whiskey barrels for a second aging, effectively resulting in “Rye on Rye on Rye.”  ABV: 14.6%.

Ommegang Shortsleeve Saison- “This beer is brewed with lemon peel, coriander and grains of paradise.”  ABV: 4.5%.

Ommegang Siren’s Song- “Ancient mariners braved the Aegean, holds laden with figs and raisins. They faced great storms, monstrous sea creatures, and merciless pirates. But all paled compared to the Sirens, whose enchanted songs drifted to sea and drew the sailors to their end.  Our dark ale, Sirens’ Song, pays homage to the lost cargos, with figs and raisins added to the brew kettle. The resulting beer is dark, mysterious, and as irresistible as the Sirens’ seductive song.  Roasted malt and burnt sugar aromas lead, followed by flavors of dark fruit and notes of dark caramel. The finish is smooth and balanced with subtle bitterness.”  ABV: 9%.

Left Hand St. Vrain Tripel- “The usually peaceful St. Vrain River snakes out of the Rocky Mountains, winding mischievously towards our brewery. Named after Ceran St. Vrain, an 1800’s trapper and trader in the valley, St. Vrain is our version of a classic Belgian Tripel. Light in color and lightly hopped using Celeia hops, a touch of malt sweetness contrasts the warm spiciness hidden within. What at first appears benevolent can manifest into a mighty serpent in waiting.”  ABV: 9.3%.

Crooked Stave Vieille- “Vieille meaning “Old” is our artisinal barrel-aged Saison, lightly dry hopped. Each batch release is a diverse blend of Vieille casks that have taken on a soft Brettanomyces character before being lightly dry hopped. Dominated by a floral, citrusy hop character, a subtle herbal note and a tart finish, Vieille’s character exemplifies artisan Saisons.”  ABV: 4.2%.

Crooked Stave Colorado Wild Sage- “We at Crooked Stave find solace playing in the Colorado Mountains and possess a great pride for the place we call home. Paying homage to our great state and the even larger Western Region of the US, we brewed Colorado WildSage, a Brett Saison incorporating fresh herbs, including white sage and lemongrass. Brewed with the backcountry in mind, Colorado WildSage is dominated by a bright floral aroma, soft herbal notes and a crisp Brettanomyces bite from primary fermentation and further bottle conditioning with our house mixed yeast culture. Brewed with all Colorado ingredients in order to deliver a little bit of the high country to everyone who decides to share in this beer with us.”  ABV: 7.2%.

Crooked Stave Motif-  “A Dark Belgian Style Sour Ale.”  ABV: 10%.

Crooked Stave Surette- “Brewed with traditional harvest grains. Surette is a provision Saison with a tart and vinous character from extended barrel aging.”  ABV: 6.2%.

Crooked Stave Serenata Notturna- “Serenata Notturna is Crooked Stave’s take on a Belgian Strong Golden Ale, primary fermented with Crooked Stave’s mixed culture of wild yeast and bacteria in previously used Sherry Casks.  To further push the envelope with our mixed culture fermentations we knocked out a beer with a starting gravity of 22° Plato and fermented this beer to 12% ABV, a bit higher ABV then we usually brew at.”

Bear Republic Hop Shovel- “Hop Shovel is dry, but with a soft and rounded mouthfeel achieved by using a high proportion of wheat and rye. Hop varieties Mosaic, Meridian, and Denali provide an abundance of flavor and aroma.”  ABV: 7.5%.

Bear Republic Café Racer- “Café Racer  features aromas of bright citrus and resinous pine from the generous use of Citra, Amarillo, Cascade and Chinook hops which are complimented by a dry malt finish. The result is a high revving Double IPA that is loud and assertive, much like the rebellious street racers who inspired it. Never ride alone…”  ABV: 9.75%.

New Holland White Hatter- “Flavorfully blends the soft malt, fruity esters and delicate spicing of a Belgian White with hoppy citrus notes of an IPA. Pleasant hints of orange are framed with chamomile, coriander and grains of paradise.”  ABV: 5.5%.

Flying Dog Denali- An Imperial IPA from Flying Dog’s Single Hop Series, featuring Denali hops.  ABV: 8%.

New Beer Arrivals 2/6-2/10

Christian Moerlein Pacer- “Pacer packs an explosive punch of citrus aromatics and tropical fruit flavors backed by an easy-drinking pale body. Slight herbal notes are complemented by a burst of grapefruit and melon from an abundant dry-hopping of Citra hops, creating a pale ale that sets the pace.”  ABV: 6.5%.

Rhinegeist Homie- This year’s Homebrew Competition winner, brewed in collaboration with local brewery, Rhinegeist.  This year the style is a Belgian Dubbel, weighing in at 7.2%.

Rhinegeist Gramps- “A bold, bright and hoppy American Barleywine Ale that’s been waltzing with us at Rhinegeist since our first winter—you never regret spending a little quality time with Gramps.”  ABV: 8.2%.

Troegs First Cut- “Each spring, hop growers dust off their pruning shears and trim the first shoots, bolstering the bines for a rich growing season. First Cut – a mouthful of silky Simcoe and a touch of mango – is a nod to this ritual, without which the world would be a less hoppy place.”  ABV: 6.2%.

Alesmith IPA- Now in cans!! “A San Diego classic, AleSmith IPA showcases the versatility of American hops. Aromas of grapefruit and tangerine lead into an abundance of fresh pine and tropical fruit notes followed by a crisp, resinous bitterness. The complex hop profile is supported by a firm malt presence to create an incredibly flavorful and well-balanced IPA.”  ABV: 7.25%.

Against The Grain Pile of Face- “What’s the first thing you need to do when you start a brewery? Develop your logo, of course. With any potentially decent brewery, your logo must be a skull, it has to be a skull, you’ll be laughed out of the room if you don’t have a skull. So we went hunting in the area where all the great skulls have come from and were shit out of luck. By those fateful dumpsters all we found was this deformed neanderthal type deal, or maybe it’s from an ape, and a big ol’ pile of face. To celebrate our lack of success in finding a really cool skull, we are embracing another required cliché by brewing this American IPA. A modicum of simple malts provide the mediocre backbone to the mountain of various hops that are utilized and rotated throughout the brewing process. Look for dank overtones supported by various citrus and heirloom fruits. It’s the straight forward fuckin’ IPA that you always wanted from us.”  ABV: 6.5%.

Jackie O’s Morning Cloak- “A true session hop delight with grainy character from munic and wheat to add lightness to the grist. Aroma is full of oranges, lemon rind, floral nuances, and touches of grapefruit pith. Morning Cloak is a reference to the first butterfly of spring, as the morning sun coaxes it from the cocoon.”  ABV: 4.5%.

Warped Wing Pirogue- “This Belgian Style Black Tripel made with coffee was named after the type of small boat that carried the first settlers from Cincy up the Great Miami River to Dayton back in 1796. This beer was created through a collaboration between Warped Wing Brewery, Wood Burl Coffee Roasters & Press Coffee Bar. The beer combines cold brew coffee derived from a proprietary brewing process developed by Brett Barker of Wood Burl & Press with an innovative twist on a Belgian Style Tripel that brewmaster, John Haggerty, decided to turn BLACK!   A nose of coffee and baker’s chocolate with a touch of fruity and spicy yeast aroma. From there you will taste sweet flavors of brown sugar and fig that dissipate into a slightly vinous note contributed by the coffee’s slightly drying roastiness, slight notes of dark stone fruit and Belgian Style Tripel finish credited to the Abbey strain of yeast. ”  ABV: 9%.

Taft’s Cherrywood Amber- “American amber ale brewed with a touch of cherrywood smoked malt. Smooth and sultry. ”  ABV: 6%.

Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Blackberry Porter- “This is a big and dark beer with bold flavors to ease you into spring. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Blackberry Porter porter has been brewed with the official state fruit of Kentucky and aged in bourbon barrels. This spring seasonal comes out with the bold roasted malt flavors complemented by a nose of fresh blackberries. ”  ABV: 8.3%.

Founders Frootwood- “We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long.”  ABV: 8%.

Revolution Straight Jacket- “A strong ale to warm your insides in the dead of winter. Deep aromas and flavors of dark stone fruits, bourbon, molasses, toasted coconut and vanilla come in waves.”  Aged in bourbon barrels.  ABV: 13%.

Plus more 3 Floyd’s then I care to list, including some brand new ones we’ve never seen before!!  You should probably just come in and look around.  Please don’t ask for holds on 3 Floyd’s.

We’ll see you soon, cheers!

New Beer Arrivals 1/30-2/3

Rhinegeist Café Ink- “Ink Imperial Stout aged on Cincinnati roasted coffee beans.”  ABV: 10%.

Jackie O’s Bourbon Barrel Dark Apparition- “This hauntingly good brew in your hand is rife with dark complexities. Seven malts were used to create deep flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, and molasses. A hint of bitterness and herbal character from carefully selected European and American hops help support the monolithic maltiness. After conditioning in stainless steel, the beer was transferred into bourbon barrels. For 8 to 12 months, Dark Apparition waited patiently in oak barrels until the time was right to spring forth with its ghostly gusto. A truly decadent brew that is intended to be poured into your favorite snifter and given time to warm up from it’s dark and cool resting place”  ABV: 11.5%.

Dogfish Head Flesh&Blood- Released for the first time in cans!  “Flesh & Blood began with a ton of real citrus including lemon flesh and blood orange juice—hence the name—plus orange and lemon peel. Then the brewers began searching for the perfect combination of hops to perfectly complement the citrus flavors. After trialing number of different hops one-by-one, they emerged with Warrior and Centennial.  So what does this focus on simple, pure unadulterated fruit mean in terms of the aromatics and flavors in this beer? Flesh & Blood balances the resinous hoppy characteristics of an American IPA with the explosive zesty fruitiness and subtle drying tartness of citrus to deliver a highly quaffable ale that’s incredibly unique and lovely to down the whole year round.”  ABV: 7.5%.

Dogfish Head 60 Minute- Released in cans for the first time!  “60 Minute IPA is continuously hopped — more than 60 hop additions over a 60-minute boil. (Getting a vibe of where the name came from?)  60 Minute is brewed with a slew of great Northwest hops. A powerful but balanced East Coast IPA with a lot of citrusy hop character, it’s the session beer for hardcore enthusiasts!”  ABV: 6%.

Stone Ripper- “When it came to creating Ripper, we drew inspiration from the coastal surf cultures of SoCal and Oz. Sourcing classic Cascade from the Pacific Northwest and Australian Galaxy hops from…yes…Australia, we made a beer both lovers of frothy peaks and hoppy green buds will be stoked about. At the same time, we stayed true to our San Diego roots by pushing the hop boundaries of this style. While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Ours just so happens to have an Aussie accent that’s cascading with a juicy amount of grapefruit and passion fruit hoppiness. So veg out or venture out. Either way, rip one open and taste this awesome golden nectar!”  ABV: 5.7%.

Stone Tangerine Express- “This ain’t no just-add-juice approach. This one is for adults. We use bountiful whole tangerine purée, which brings pithy, crisp bitterness to the citrus flavor. In addition to the complexities of the tangerine — the likes of which you can only get by using the whole fruit — we judiciously employ just a hint of whole pineapple for a backnote (you’d likely not even pick it out of the mix if we didn’t tell you it was there). We’re not looking for a sweet concoction to appease the “I want my beer to taste like fruit juice” crowd. This is Stone. We like our IPAs to taste like IPAs. Big, bold and not for kids.”  ABV: 6.7%.

B Nektar The Dude’s Rug- “Sweet, baked apples followed by a vivid blend of clove and cardamom. Black tea rounds out the flavor and leaves little to no tannin. Medium-bodied with a crisp, red apple skin aftertaste.”  ABV: 5.5%.

Maui Lemongrass Saison- “Belgian inspired Saison brewed with locally raised lemongrass.”  ABV: 5.2%.

Great Divide Chcocolate Oak Aged Yeti- “Another revered incarnation of our legendary imperial stout. We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. Another great Yeti? Hell yes.”  ABV: 9.5%.

Boulevard Early Riser- “We start with a smooth, dark, rich and roasty porter, then add Colombian Cajibio Estate coffee supplied by our local friends at Maps Coffee Roasters to create an eye-opening marriage of our two favorite brewed beverages.”  ABV: 5%.

This week’s events are:

Wednesday:  Kill The Keg!!  Get $3 off growlers, and $2 off howlers and growlers all day long!  (Does not include Nitro, Meads, or 3 Floyd’s).

Thursday: Night 1 of Super Bell’s Weekend featuring beers on tap from Bell’s and food from The Beerded Pig.

We’ll see you soon, cheers!

New Beer Arrivals 1/23-1/27

Braxton Dead Blow- They’re newest can release!  “Dead Blow is a Tropical version of the Foreign Extra Stout. Eighty pounds of macerated dates made its way into this brew, partnered with a Dry English Ale yeast to provide a vibrant fruity/tropical aroma with a slight amount of fruity esters. The Dry English ale yeast helps this beer attenuate lower, however leaving a residual sweetness on the finish as well as increase the fruity characteristic received from the Dates. Dead Blow is a dry, roasty, fruity, full bodied, smooth stout, that is lighter on bitterness.”  ABV: 7.2%.

Bell’s Smitten- “Smitten began as Golden Rye Pale Ale, part of a series of beers that explored the use of rye malt at our pub, the Eccentric Café. Our spring seasonal offers rustic flavors from rye malt combined with citrus, resinous hop aroma from Pacific Northwest varieties to create a crisp, refreshing take on the classic Pale Ale.”  ABV: 6%.

Arbor Espresso Love- “Oatmeal and 20 pounds of fresh roasted coffee from the Ugly Mug Café contribute to a mildly chalky espresso character balanced by a rich, sweet creamy maltiness. Coffee finish dissolves into chocolate with a slight roasty bitterness.”  ABV: 6.7%.

Alpine Windows Up- “This West Coast style IPA is 7% and chocked full of Citra and Mosaic hops.”

Off Color Hell Broth- “Brewed in collaboration with Amager Bryghus, Danish Style Wild Ale brewed with; Cranberries, Juniper Berries, Wild Blossom Honey, and Lemon Blossom Honey.”  ABV: 6.30%.

Off Color Papillon- “An American Wild Ale aged in gin barrels with wild yeasts.”  ABV: 6.1%.

Blackberry Farm King of Falling Fruit- “A Farmhouse Ale aged in red wine barrels with local Tennessee peaches and plums”  ABV: 6.3%.

Stone Enjoy By 02.14.17- “It’s not unusual to see pronouncements of “I Heart Hops,” “I Heart Chocolate” or “I Heart Coffee” throughout #socialmedia, printed on T-shirts and, natch, emblazoned on coffee cups. Over the past couple of decades we have helped add “I Freaking Heart IPAs” to that lexicon. Today, passionate people can’t imagine a world without all of the above. For this special edition, we added chocolate and coffee to make this devastatingly fresh IPA even more seductive to the palate. We humbly suggest that you use this libation to proclaim your love for someone… and we suggest that someone be you. Loving yourself is exactly what this libation is all about. Love now; remember forever. ”  ABV: 9.4%.

Warped Wing Jolly Tar- “Dark brown with ruddy highlights and has a subdued hop character with a mildly assertive finish. The aroma is malty with lots of bakers chocolate and mild raisin-like notes. The aroma flows into the flavor of the beer with chocolate, raisin and fig like character. The mid palette is malty with medium body that finishes somewhat dry.”  ABV: 5.7%.

Warped Wing Baltic Argonaut- “This Baltic Porter is black in color with a dense tan foam. The aroma boasts a bouquet of roasty, coffee notes with mild caramel sweetness. The malt character features lots of dark malt flavors like roast, chocolate and vanilla complimented by warming alcohol notes and hints of nutty, toffee, bready flavors. ”  ABV: 11.5%.

Sixpoint Hi-Res- “To see the hop cone up close, we zoomed in microscopic, and found a hi-res view. In Hi-Resolution, the hop optic was magnified; our perception, fully amplified. It’s microscopic. It’s telescopic. It’s off-topic. It’s Mad Science. ”  ABV: 10.5%.

Great Divide Hop Disciples- “A Rotating Hop Project takes a bright, clean IPA and puts a different hop variety at the forefront of the sensory experience every year. The inaugural release features Idaho 7, which shows up punching with aromas of orange zest and stone fruit complemented by a hint of black tea leaves in an uncharacteristic element of subtlety. Hop Disciples may look tough on the outside, but with its golden blonde hue and approachable 6.2% ABV, we promise it’s a lover not a fighter.”

Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree- “We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Enjoy right away or let it mellow and smooth with some age.”  ABV: 12%.

Against The Grain A Beer- “Walk up to the bar and what do you ask for? A Beer, naturally. It doesn’t always matter what it is, or what you want in this case. You want something light? We’ve got A Beer for you. You want something hop forward? We’ve got A Beer for you. You just want to camp out on that bar stool and crush something? We’ve got ABeer for you. We’re only marginally apologetic that it’s not kettle soured with Mosaic & Amarillo hops. This is better. This is a straight forward, refreshing extra pale ale utilizing the newest varieties of German aroma hops (Hallertau Blanc & Mandarina Bavaria). Call it a session IPA if you need, call it a pale ale if you prefer, hell, it doesn’t matter what you call it, what matters is that you stop talking about it and throw ABeer down yer gullet.”  ABV: 4.5%.

As always, if you come in and look around you will find plenty more world class beers on our shelves.

New Beer Arrivals 12/19-12/23

Urban Artifact Thoroughbred- “Bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Kentucky Common Ale with brettanomyces lending tropical fruit flavors.”  ABV: 9.1%.

Rhinegeist Fiction- “Dry hopped blonde Belgian extra pale ale with intense bouquet of lychee, kiwi and citrus.”  ABV: 6%.

Rhinegeist Roar- “This Double IPA has a hint of spicy rye added to offer up a creamy mouthfeel, Amarillo, Mosaic and Citra hops give apricot, peach, mango, grapefruit and citrus flavors and aromas.”  ABV: 8%.

New Belgium Citradelic Exotic Lime- “A crisp, refreshing golden ale bursting with juicy Persian lime, freshly ground corriander and a hit of cracked black pepper.”  ABV: 5.2%.

Great Divide BA Yeti- “This unique version of our monstrous Yeti Imperial Stout is aged for at least 12 months in whiskey barrels.  The spirited aging process produces a hugely complex but mellowed Yeti, with its signature roasted flavors, hints of vanilla and oak, and a whiskeyed finish.  Who says you can’t tame a beast?”  ABV: 10.4%.

Revolution Deth’s Tar- “Deth’s Tar is a barrel-aged Russian Imperial Oatmeal Stout. It is brewed with a host of wonderful specialty malts, flaked oats and oat malt to impart a rich, silky mouthfeel and deep, complex malt flavors and aromas reminiscent of dark baker’s chocolate, fresh brewed coffee and caramel candy. We also utilized Warrior as the main bittering hop and English Fuggle in the whirlpool to impart a clean balanced bitterness and hints earthiness and spiciness dancing around the intense malt backbone. The brew then spent ten months resting between Heaven Hill and Old Forester bourbon barrels. The resulting blend is Deth’s Tar, that we bring to you once again on draft and in 22-ounce bombers in commemorative packaging.”  ABV: 13.5%.

The Bruery 4 Calling Birds- “Spiced Strong Dark Ale. The Twelve Days of Christmas series continues! We took inspiration from the traditional winter warmer for our fourth verse, integrating gingerbread spices into a robust dark ale. Notes of licorice & banana bread mingle with dark fruit, molasses and bitter chocolate for a perfect cold weather sipper!”  ABV: 11%.

The Bruery 5 Golden Rings- “5 Golden Rings is the 5th verse in our ‘12 Days of Christmas’ winter seasonal ale series. The only golden ale in the bunch, we spiced up the natural pause in the classic song with cinnamon, allspice and ginger along with the delicious sweet and tangy flavor of pineapple. The resulting ale is a true holiday treat that can be enjoyed fresh or cellared until 2019, when 12 Drummers Drumming will be released.”  ABV: 11.5%.

The Bruery 6 Geese-A-Laying- “6 Geese-A-Laying is the 6th beer in our “12 Days of Christmas” series and is a return to the more classic dark and toasty winter ale, following the appropriately blonde 5 Golden Rings. Brewed with cape gooseberries, this malty ale displays notes of plums, dark cherry and bright, citrus-like flavors from the namesake berries. Delicious right now, but suitable for aging up to 6 years, upon the release of 12 Drummers Drumming.”  ABV: 11.5%.

The Bruery 7 Swans a Swimming- “7 Swans-A-Swimming is the 7th beer in our “12 Days of Christmas” series. For this verse of the story, we chose the path we don’t often take – we brewed to style. No bells, no whistles, just our best take on the Belgian Quadrupel style. Brewed with nothing but water, malt, yeast, hops and a bit of Belgian dark candi sugar, this beer may not be as out-of-the-box as some of our past winter brews, but it’s just as tasty. Rich and complex, this robust dark ale juggles notes of raisin bread, dried apricots, burnt caramel and roasted pecans. The sweet flavors provide a full body and the bright yeast wafts the sweet holiday notes out of the glass, into your life. 7 Swans-A-Swimming is a perfect holiday sipper. Delicious right now, but suitable for aging up to 5 years, upon the release of 12 Drummers Drumming.”  ABV: 11%.

The Bruery  8 Maids-a-Milking- “8 Maids-a-Milking is the 8th beer in our “12 Days of Christmas” series, and we’d be udderly crazy to release anything but a milk stout. So we made an imperial milk stout to stand up to whatever Old Man Winter throws our way from now through 2019 with the final release of our series. 8 Maids-a-Milking is brewed with lactose, which is commonly referred to as milk sugar. It’s the only type of sugar that is unfermentable by yeast, which adds more perceptible creaminess and sweetness to the finished beer. This mouthfeel and sweetness is complemented by robust layers of milk chocolate, subtle spice accents from our house Belgian yeast and roasty, cafe elements indicative of our take on the style. Celebrate the seasons with the best of both worlds: enjoy some now, and lay a few down for up to 4 years to be enjoyed upon the release of 12 Drummers Drumming.”  ABV: 11.3%.

Hoof Hearted Florida Room- “Dry-hopped Pilsner made with 100% Pilsner malt, grown in Ohio, and hopped with Huell Melon!! A new German hop that has hints of…melon!”  ABV: 5%.

Ballast Point Coconut Victory at Sea- “This Coconut Victory at Sea takes our popular Imperial Porter to another place. We added sweet roasted coconut to our robust porter brewed with Caffe Calabria coffee and vanilla,  the perfect complement to this beer’s subtly roasty intensity. A favorite at our annual Victory at Sea Day, but it’s worth enjoying anytime you need to be transported.”  ABV: 10%.

Clown Shoes Space Cake #7- “Tasked with bringing cake to our 7th anniversary party, Miracle Mike needed to destroy the laser beam shooting pastries that menace him. He appears to have “borrowed” the birthday surprise from a young wizard who did not die. Dry hopped with seven hops (Idaho 7, Mosaic, Citra, Ella, Galaxy, Centennial, and Nelson Sauvin) this IPA salutes the industry and our customers. Thank you for a wonderful seven years!”  ABV: 7.7%.

With how busy we are during the holidays we will not be running as many events as usual this week, however, Wednesday is still Kill the Keg Day, and Thursday’s Pint Night will feature $1 off all pints and growlers!

We will be open normal hours all week (9am-11pm mon-sat) with the exception of Christmas Day, which we will be open 11am-10pm!

We’ll see you soon, cheers!

New Beer Arrivals 12/12-12/16

New Belgium Clutch-  “It started as chance, a sandwich shop encounter between a band and a fan. It ended as the Clutch Collaboration. This pleasing, two-part potion was brewed with chocolate and black malts for a rich and roasty overtone, then fused with a dry, substratum of sour for a bold and audacious flavor. Black as night, this beer is blended at 70% stout, 30% dark sour wood beer for a collaboration that begins with a sour edge and finishes with a big, dark malt character, lingering, sweet on your palate. ”  ABV: 8.5%.

new-belgium-voodoo-ranger-8-hop-2New Belgium Voodoo- “Bursting with tropical aromas and juicy fruit flavors from Mosaic and Amarillo hops, this golden IPA is perfectly bitter with a refreshing, sublime finish.”  ABV: 7%.

rhinegeistbainkRhinegeist Bourbon Barrel Aged Ink- “Aged 12 months in bourbon barrels. This rich, full-bodied elixir deepens with each sip as roasted, dark fruits and chocolate rise up from its plump and supple depths.”  ABV: 11.8%.

perrin_brewing_norules-2Perrin No Rules- “This gigantic 15% Imperial Porter is deceptively smooth and subtly sweet with layers of flavor that never seem to end. Some say it tastes like a Mounds candy bar that’s been dipped over and over again in rich chocolate and soaked in bourbon. Other people find flavors of coconut, cinnamon, toffee, vanilla, and coffee — and they would also be correct. This beer is special and there’s a reason why it was named as the top beer in the World.”

deschutesthedissidentDeschutes The Dissident- “The Dissident is an Oud Bruin, a distinctive Flanders-style sour brown ale, with a heavenly aroma and flavor. Our first wild yeast beer, we use Brettanomyces and local cherries to give The Dissident its characteristic sour taste. Our stiffest brewing challenge, it must be fermented in isolation from our other beers for a full 22 months, partly in pinot and cabernet barrels. The words coddled and “worth it” come to mind.”  ABV: 10.9%.

urbanartifactfinncansUrban Artifact Finn- “We created this beer style, which we call The Berliner Pale Ale, to be hopped like a citrusy American Pale Ale with an all malt grain bill, yet brewed with a crisp tartness like a Berliner Weisse. Apricot, grapefruit, and tropical hop flavors dominate the aroma followed by a burst of citrusy hop flavor balanced with a refreshing tartness”  ABV: 5.4%.

urbanartifactsliderulecansUrban Artifact Sliderule- ” A deceptively dark and easy drinking gose with a huge raspberry and flavor and a smooth chocolatey finish to round it all out. Tart, crisp and drinkable, a perfect winter session beer.”  ABV: 4.9%.

three-floyds-alpha-king-pale-ale-beer-indiana-usa-104935093 Floyd’s Alpha King- “A bold yet balanced American Pale Ale with slight caramel sweetness and aggressive citrus hoppiness. This is our flagship beer.”  ABV: 6.66%. (No holds).

zombiedust3 Floyd’s Zombie Dust- “This intensely hopped and gushing undead Pale Ale will be one’s only respite after the zombie apocalypse. Created with our marvelous friends in the comic industry.”  ABV: 6.2%.  (No holds).

saugatuckblueberry-maple-stoutSaugatuck Blueberry Maple Stout- “A sweet milk stout with all the malt characteristics you love but with a bold, unique twist- this beer tastes like a glass full of blueberry pancakes smothered in maple syrup.”  ABV: 6%.

hoppinfrogfrogquistadorHoppin Frog BA Frogquistador- “Set forth to become the conqueror of extremely special and rare Spanish brandy barrels that were captured by our crew, El Frogquistador was conceived. It had to be prepared for battle, yet lively and agile enough to conquer all this delicious, complex and memorable goodness.”  ABV: 8.6%.

As always, if you come in and shop, you will certainly find plenty of other badass beers.

Against The Grain Bo&Luke- “We took the ingredients in bourbon whiskey (Barley, Rye, Corn) and then smoked them with cherry wood and brewed a huge imperial stout with them.  Then to top it off we aged it in Pappy VanWinkle Bourbon Barrels.  The resulting beer is rich, smokey and complex, with a bourbon character of caramel, vanilla and spice.” ABV: 13ish%

nickelbrook_kentuckybastard_2013Nickelbrook Kentucky Bastard- “We kicked it up a notch with our Bolshevik Bastard Imperial Stout, aging it in Kentucky Bourbon barrels. The rich chocolate, coffee and dark fruit flavours from our Imperial Stout are married together with the vanilla, oak and warming alcohol from bourbon barrels. Together as one, the result is an incredible blend of aroma and taste. Drink it today, or cellar it to enjoy later as it matures.”  ABV: 14.5%.

dogfish-head-pennsylvania-tuxedoDogfish Head Pennsylvania Tuxedo- “A spruce-infused pale ale, Pennsylvania Tuxedo pays homage to the flannel-suited hunters and gatherers who dwell deep in the backcountry of north-central PA.  Brewed in collaboration with family-run outdoor clothing company Woolrich, Pennsylvania Tuxedo is a sessionable concoction with a grassy citrus kick complemented by the resinous conifer notes of fresh green spruce tips. We went into the forests of north-central Pennsylvania and Georgetown, Del., to pick these fresh tips ourselves.  A dry yet doughy malt backbone lets the hops and spruce shine while still balancing out the bitterness, making this one an easy sipper.”  ABV: 8.5%.

alaskanwinteraleAlaskan Winter Ale- “Brewed in the style of an English Olde Ale, this ale balances the sweet heady aroma of spruce tips with the clean crisp finish of noble hops. Its malty richness is complemented by the warming sensation of alcohol.”  ABV: 6.4%.

Liz was floored and we think you will be too.”  ABV: 10.5%.
